My name is Amira Hashish. I’m an executive editor, creative director, broadcaster, content and marketing strategist across digital, print and experiential platforms.

I like telling tales.

The Headlines

Executive Editor

During my 12 years at the Evening Standard, where I was executive editor, I oversaw all digital lifestyle and entertainment content, creative direction and partnerships. Under my direction, we were named Best Lifestyle/Leisure News Site at the Drum Awards. I launched sections including Lifestyle, Travel, Design, Going Out, Fashion, Food & Drink, Tech and Shopping online for the first time in the paper’s 180-year history. I opened the Standard’s first New York office. Simultaneously, I created its popular culture lifestyle platform Insider, from branding and design to the content strategy, sponsorship and launch.

Columnist

For the last decade I have written a weekly column for the Evening Standard, covering celebrity homes or properties with amazing architecture. From a Hollywood Hills mansion to a Notting Hill mews house, I make it my mission to seek out the world’s most fabulous real estate. I also write regular design or travel columns for The Independent and contribute features and interviews to titles including Waitrose Weekend. I am The Ned’s travel and design columnist.

Director

I thrive on bringing stories to life through digital and print media, film, audio, events, books, experiences ...and the unexpected. I am as well-versed in creating bespoke strategies for brands as leading a multifaceted team of editors, writers, filmmakers and talks organisers to engage in the subjects and conversations that matter and excite. Hence my role as Founder & Director of content, creative and events agency Rapport. A home for the new dawn of lifestyle, travel and design Rapport consults, connects and creates for a variety of brands from the worlds of hospitality, property, interiors, food & drink and interiors. We make stories.

Presenter

I curate and present a monthly series of events for the Soho House group, centred on design and travel. I have appeared on a variety of broadcast platforms discussing everything from architecture and interiors to fashion and celebrity. I interview business leaders from many backgrounds for my Back To Business events series at The Ned. I also host Q&As, panels and awards ceremonies for a variety of brands, venues and festivals across the UK and the US.

Brand Consultant

I work on consultancy projects for a variety of lifestyle, design, real estate and hospitality clients. I love helping brands find their voice to reach key audience segments. I get a kick out of discovering and implementing a client’s narrative, taking into account its legacy, purpose and ambitions. Honing in on industry trends and analytics, I help brands navigate the digital space whilst maintaining and celebrating a quality driven approach and core values. I’ve worked with iconic retailers including Harrods and Liberty, tech heavyweights from Apple to Amazon and hospitality boards such as Discover LA and Travel Portland.

Designer

My passion for homeware came to life when I designed a bed collection for Royal Warrant Holder and manufacturer Hypnos. I worked with textile and digital specialists to create bespoke prints for the fabrics on each bed. The range launched at London Design Festival and went on to retail in Furniture Village stores across the UK and online. There is something comforting about knowing Her Majesty The Queen sleeps on a Hypnos mattress. Yes, really.

I’m passionate about future proofing publications and brands through compelling storytelling, insightful collaborations and smart event activation.
